Looking for a natural approach to healthier, more radiant skin? Cosmetic acupuncture is a gentle, whole-body facial rejuvenation treatment designed to support circulation, facial muscle tone and overall skin health while addressing the underlying TCM patterns that may be affecting how you feel.
At Adina Robinson Acupuncture & Wellness in El Dorado Hills, I combine facial and whole-body acupuncture with LED light therapy, BioMat support and other facial rejuvenation techniques to create a treatment that cares for more than just your skin.
Cosmetic acupuncture, sometimes called facial rejuvenation acupuncture, uses very fine acupuncture needles placed at specific points on the face and body. Facial points are selected to support circulation, facial muscle tone and overall skin health, while body acupuncture allows me to take a whole-person approach to treatment.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we don't look at the skin in isolation. Sleep, stress, digestion, circulation and overall health are all part of the picture. That's why your treatment includes whole-body acupuncture to address your individual TCM patterns—not just needles in the face.
Cosmetic acupuncture may be a good choice if you're looking to naturally support the appearance of:
Because Cosmetic Acupuncture includes whole-body acupuncture, your treatment also gives us the opportunity to address individual TCM patterns related to concerns such as stress, sleep and digestion as part of your overall care.
Cosmetic Acupuncture is designed as a series of 12 treatments, typically scheduled 1–2 times per week. Facial rejuvenation happens gradually, and this consistency allows us to work with your skin and whole-body patterns over time.
Each session begins with a check-in about how you're feeling, including things like stress, sleep, digestion and any changes you've noticed in your skin.
Your treatments may include:
Most people find Cosmetic Acupuncture surprisingly relaxing. It's facial rejuvenation, but it's also time to slow down, reset and care for the whole you.
Both Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling support natural-looking facial rejuvenation, but they work differently.
Cosmetic Acupuncture is a gentle, whole-body approach using facial and body acupuncture to support circulation, facial muscle tone and overall skin health. My Cosmetic Acupuncture program includes 12 treatments, typically scheduled 1–2 times per week, with little to no downtime.
Microneedling works more directly on the skin, creating controlled microchannels that stimulate the skin's natural repair and collagen-building process. It's a better fit for more targeted concerns such as fine lines, acne scars, uneven texture, discoloration and loss of firmness. My Microneedling Rejuvenation Series includes 3 monthly microneedling treatments with 3 nanoneedling sessions in between.
Not sure which approach is right for you? We can choose based on your skin, your goals and the type of treatment experience you're looking for.
And if you want the benefits of both, my Radiant Beauty Program combines Microneedling with Cosmetic Acupuncture or Nanoneedling and whole-body care in a personalized 3-month program.

Radiant Beauty is my personalized 3-month facial rejuvenation program for women who want to combine Cosmetic Acupuncture with more targeted skin rejuvenation.Your program includes:
Rather than following the exact same protocol for everyone, Radiant Beauty allows us to personalize your in-between treatments as we go.It's my most complete approach to supporting healthy, natural-looking skin while caring for the whole person underneath.
What we do in the treatment room is only part of the picture. A consistent home skincare routine can help support hydration, your skin barrier and overall skin health between treatments.
I recommend TOMA Skin Therapies because their professional skincare fits beautifully with my approach to facial rejuvenation and healthy aging.
Your skincare doesn't need to be complicated. The goal is simply to give your skin the right support at home while we're doing the deeper work in the treatment room.
No. My Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments include acupuncture points on both the face and body. Facial acupuncture focuses on circulation, facial muscle tone and overall skin health, while whole-body acupuncture allows me to address your individual TCM patterns and support your overall well-being.
My Cosmetic Acupuncture program is a series of 12 treatments, typically scheduled 1–2 times per week. Facial rejuvenation happens gradually, and consistency gives us time to work with both your skin and your whole-body patterns.
Most people are surprised by how gentle Cosmetic Acupuncture feels. The facial needles are extremely fine, and while you may occasionally feel a brief pinch or sensation when a needle is placed, most clients find the treatment relaxing.
Cosmetic Acupuncture is generally well tolerated. Minor bruising can occasionally occur at facial needle sites, and temporary redness or tenderness is also possible.
Many clients also enjoy the whole-body experience that comes with treatment. Because each session includes body acupuncture and time to rest, clients often leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and more grounded in addition to receiving their facial rejuvenation treatment.
Some clients notice subtle changes in their skin or overall appearance early in the series, while other changes develop more gradually. Cosmetic Acupuncture is designed as a series because facial rejuvenation takes time, and individual results vary depending on your skin, age, lifestyle and goals.
